Highland Sun Background
Take seven musicians: 3 singers, 3 fiddlers, 2 guitarists, one bodhran
player, one mandolinist, one citternist, one cellist, one whistler, one
flautist, one hammered dulcimer player, and some bones (don't do the math).
Add an audience and you've got Highland Sun. The brainchild of Howard Chu
and Ian Abramovitch, Highland Sun specializes in traditional music of
"Ireland, Scotland, and Parts Unknown." Mixing songs with instrumentals,
the group provides a raucous good time for folkies and families. When you
see them, expect to hear jigs, ballads, reels, drinking songs, hornpipes,
patriotic songs, and polkas. Look for them anywhere - pubs, restaurants,
parties, weddings, festivals, bar mitzvahs.
